What should I think about this guy?

Ok, so there is this guy I like. I know that he's liked me for over a year for the way he has flirted with me. I also asked him to the prom and he said yes was a real gentleman. For the past few weeks, we have texted each other back and forth. . However, I am always the one who texts him first. He usually texts back right away, but last night, he did not (also in the middle of our conversation). So, it is the next day already and have not recieved a reply . Also there have been times where I put a smiley emoticon and and it's like 15 mins.later and still no smiley, so I put another one and finally he puts one. I know he's probably not preoccupied, because he plays video games a lot. I'm open to the idea, however, maybe he lost his phone or his phone went dead or maybe he is preoccupied . I don't know if he's playing a mind game or whatever by not replying back. I know he likes me. We went on a date last week and he said he'd like to go on another one. On the date he also hugged me tight and was a gentleman. What if at school, he treats me like nothing happened and he's allover me and is really excited to see me. What should I do? Should I give him the cold shoulder or leave it and act like nothing happened? I just asked him what his favorite song was and it was totally on topic.
