People think I'm racist..?

I was hanging out with some girls I work with at a local grocery store and we were making jokes about each other. My jokes were about the extremely fair shade of my skin, my somewhat red hair and my glasses. The other girls were teased about everything from their hair texture to their weight. It has started to rain so we were joking around with the black girl in the group about how she couldn't get her hair wet. She laughed along with us saying she needed to "get her hair did" and we continued on. We joked again the next day about similar topics and everything seemed fine. However, it turns out that she had told a coworker that I was being racist and had offended her with no regard to her feelings. I understand that some things said may be perceived as racist, but the problem here is that she did not tell any one of us who were making the jokes. Instead, she involved someone who was not there and did not know what happened besides what they were told(and, on top of that, this girl was messier that most freshmen I know). The next day, I got called into the boss' office and even though, I did not get in trouble because he understood my point, I'm being harassed by my coworkers. One of the guys in the meat department(who is black) that I used to talk to and get along with really well now hates me. I'm also concerned about what this girl and the other cashier she involved is telling people. For all I know, they could be portraying me as a KKK member. I don't think that reporting them to the boss would do any help because there's at least five people and it seems like they're using this number of people to out number me and the people who will stick up for me as a way to bully me into quitting. I don't understand how this situation got this way and I need advice on how to deal with it because it doesn't seem like ignoring it will help :/

We had a 30-hour power outage while I was out of town. Yes, I am not very normal person, and please keep the criticism to your self. To start it off I am not a christian, while most of the population is christian/catholic, this might give me trouble in the future... I understand what your going through! I was the same age when i first became vegetarian and my dad tried to stop me too. Eventually, if you stick with your decision your parents will have to just accept it (mine did though they still aren't happy) It might help your parents to see your that decision is mature and well thought out if you plan out healthy balanced meals and prepare them yourself. To make up for the protiens in meat you should eat lots of beans and tofu. Phenol is terribly toxic to cats. It can be corrosive just on the skin. Many toxins can slowly take effect on cats, but you want to get treatment before it affects liver and kidneys. I am against eating things that are meant to taste like meat too. One thing you can do is find a place that sells dessert tofu. It's sweet and soft and really tasty. Learn to cook it in a way that doesn't make it taste like meat. It takes practice though! You can include soymilk into your diet as well. You don't necissarily need to take diet pills, just eat a fortified cereal for breakfast with a non dairy alternative for milk. And remember, being vegan doesn't have to be expensive if you're a smart shopper. Use coupons and buy store brands as often if you can. Only buy exotic fruits and vegetables on special occasions because they can be very expensive. Avoid eating out and try to cook homemade meals as often as possible.

You want to grill or broil it carefully, and be careful not to overcook it. I would not cook it more than medium. Medium well will be already too dry. Another way is to stew or braise it for a long long time, with some added fat or oil. You can grind it up and use it like ground beef for hamburgers or meatloaf, too, but remember that you need to add extra fat. I like to grind up some bacon along with the elk for this reason.

Hey guys, so facebook sent me a password kinda thing to my phone to make sure I am the real user. Weight loss wise, was this a good meal plan for today?

Yes it is very healthy but it doesn't seem like enough calories. When losing weight I suggest eating at least five/four small meals a day. You should have had lunch. If your body doesn't get a sufficient amount of calories then you go in starvation mode and end up storing fat. I'm a vegetarian also and I get my protein from soy milk, veggie meat and iron from nuts (legumes) But overall your plan is good and very healthy.

I am considering to convert my swimming pool to salt water pool. Does it ruin my pool equipment easily?

"Meat" supplement to fish diet?

Live food is always better that frozen or flake food unless if you are crushing them to feed fry. Other good live foods brine shrimp (though difficult to keep) and daphnia (water fleas) which provide good nutritions and improve coloring in fish. I personally wouldn't use the supplement because I would prefer nutritions to form naturally.

It could be that you are simply underfeeding them. Or, if you had too much fish for your tank, your fish could have suffocated. General rule of thumb - 1 inch of fish per gallon of water. Ok I sweat A LOT. WHen it's super hot out, i start sweating like crazy.. the entire back of my shirt gets drenched with sweat, but i'm not unhealthy. i take care of myself, and i'm in good shape I swim competitively from Mon to Sat every week, and now i started water polo and badminton. Water polo is 4 days a week and its hella intense. But when i do badminton or any running or any intense avtivity out of the water, i sweat a lot. during conditioning, I staart sweating like crazyyyy. Buckets of sweat going down my face, and back.. and blaahh blah. i eat whatever i can.. but i like to eat junk food. i dont eat really really salty foods. i also eat my fruits and veggies.. and i hav ish ish of a well balanced diet.......so how do i stop sweating buckets and start sweating like a normal person?

It's not good to take anything without the advice of a doctor or pharmacist. Look up the medication you take with "vitamin deficiencies" and see if it causes any. I take Keppra and it sucks up all of my vitamin D. Sometimes they can give me wierd cravings too. Seizures, I've heard, act on the sodium channels of the brain, so that could be your salt cravings. I'm 20 yrs old male that is 5"6 and 117 lbs, yeah I know, pretty freaking skinny and small. I tried going to the gym but the nearest one is a little over in hour away and the gas prices was killing me so I stopped going. I still live with my parents and there on this NO carb diet, and eat vary little, so there is vary little food in the house. I have a job as a waiter but with them making me pay rent, and my cell bill , and other crap it's hard to fork over money to pay for my own food. Last year I bought some stuff I could use at the house, like the perfect push ups, iron gym, and I bought a bench press with a curling bar also. I was working out, for 6 months 6 days a week on everything, and I was only drinking water and 2% milk. I was trying to eat good, like peanut butter sandwiches and meat but again it got to expensive since I pay for everything. After 6 months I only gained, 3 lbs. So that was a BIG morale killer and I basically gave up. So now I'm on here, yahoo asking since You know my situation what is the best way to gain weight? I haven't tried protein shakes or weight gain pills, or anything like that, do they work? If so can I mix them together? Like take those pills and drink those weight gainer drinks? Which ones on the marker actually work? Or if there a waste of money, what should I do?

We got some tofu the other day so I tried to make some tofu stirfry... I made some really good tofu stirfry a couple of months ago but I forgot to save the recipe! so I spent forever looking for another recipe. I finally found one that looked okay, but when I made it the tofu was WAY too salty. It said to marinate the tofu in soy sauce and garlic, and I cooked veggies seperately (broccoli, mushrooms, peas, onions). I tried the tofu and it was WAY too salty and marinating it made it look really unappetizing (it looked like beef chunks; I'm a vegetarian and I never was a fan of beef before) I put it in with the veggies hoping they'd dilute the salty taste or something, but I ending up taking it out and storing it in the fridge because it was just wayyyyy too salty to eat. Is there any way to make it taste less salty? Oh, and does anyone have any tried and true good recipes using tofu?

Why do people eat at Mc'Donalds?

It is disgusting, they claim that their beef is 100%, which is'nt true, most of the beef is usually cow lips or scraped up organs, Mc'Donald's owns there own tape worm farm! That is disgusting. I am quite fit and healthy, I exercise practically everyday (mostly kickboxing, walking, and strength training). I also try my best to make sure I eat very healthy. I'm lactose intolerant I'm not much for meat/fish but I make sure to get all my nutrients in my meals. I'm 5'8" and weigh around 120 (it varies from 120 to 123 from time to time). I have a pretty strong core and I know there is still a small amount of fat around my stomach but my stomach always looks HUGE. I have some GI problems but I'm on medicine for that and my stomach doesn't hurt or feel bloated. Is there something I could be doing wrong or something that I'm not doing to fix this?

If you are refering to the type of blood worm commonly sold in pet stores (midge lavae) then you shouldn't have to do anything other than feed. Most companies fortify the larvae with vitamins and the larvae themselves are great for extra protein and to simulate natural feeding behavior. If it is freeze dried you should be able to pick out single larvae. If it's frozen into flats or cubes you can soak in water and feed with a turkey baster, or cut off small sections with a knife if it's for a single fish. Hikari seems to have the best quality for both freeze dried and frozen, followed by omega one.

We adopted our dachshund when he was 11 and switched him to a raw food diet and food supplements. He was barely walking when we got him. I fingered my girlfriend and my whole life is ruined now {HELP}?

pending how long you completed the circuit for. for a second no, I did it by holding the prongs of an extension cord while plugging it in when I was a kid. Shocked the S*&^ out of me but did not stop my heart. But prolonged electrocution will eventually kill you, I would say a continuous 10 seconds to a min would do it. My sister installed something called FBSkins and now all of the facebook accounts on our computer have ad banners, a dislike option, and for some reason every time I send a smiley face, or any other emoticon, it turns into an actual yellow smiley face ( like the ones at Walmart ). Swelling in feet and ankles 28 weeks pregnant?

i am 28 weeks pregnant tomorrow. I have had swelling in my feet and ankles. My doctor says all my test and blood pressure have been very good! My gestational diabetes test came back normal. And i do not eat a lot of salty foods. my job though does require me to sit in front of a computer for 8 hours a day which i know can cause swelling so i do put my feet up whenever i can. Sour lunch meat why does it happen?

why does lunch meat go sour? I thought it was filled with salt and nitrates and so on. Last Sat I bought a 1 pound of ham and a pound of chicken roll. I left them in in their palstic interleves and put them in a plastic dish and covered. I've heard what some of the symptoms are, but i just want to know if there are others. I can sleep for a long period of time. I could easily get 11 or 12 hours of sleep. It's hard for me to wake up, even though i had all that sleep. I get dizzy once i wake up and get out of bed or am sitting down for a long period of time. I have a really heavy period, but it's very irregular. I'm also a runner and I heard many female runners have anaemia. I do not eat any red meat, rarely any meat at all. I feel very fatigued after running and usually take a 2-4 hour nap afterwards. I get shortness of breath just from walking. I also heard that getting blisters in your mouth could be a sign, is that true? I'd just like to know if these symptoms are true and if there are any others, thanks.

Is a heavy feeling in your legs normal after starting a new walking routine?

I went for an hour and a half long walk two days ago, and a 40 minute walk yesterday, and my legs feel kind of heavy. Kind of like how they feel if I eat too much salt, but I don't think I ate anything really salty yesterday (I try to keep some idea of how much salt, sugar, crap, etc I eat each day). Also, my pants are slightly tighter on my calves and mid and lower thighs. Do my legs feel weird because of the walking, or something else? I am trying to tone up a bit and build some muscle =P

Try eating lots Of fruits, vegetables, sandwiches (no meat of course), salad... There's a ton of food you can have. Also they have veggie corn dogs, veggie chicken nuggets, all sorts of vegetarian things that have the same amount of protein as the real non vegetarian food. And remember, junk food isn't the only thing out there that is vegetarian. Just keep trying and you'll get used to it! Hope I helped :)

If you want to know if it's vegetarian, read the ingredients list on the packaging. If it just says 'gelatin', then that's exactly what it is. If it's vegetarian gelatin, it will say so.

My husband is on dialysis and I am getting confused as to the things he can not eat.?

He went into acute renal failure on Memorial Day (35y/o) He is now getting dialysis 3 times a week. We have spoken with the nutritionist there but from the lists she gave me to the lists on the kidney site for people with dialysis they differ greatly. Just one point is nuts. on the list of do not eat it says under high potassium no nuts/peanut butter. but I went to the kidney website for a dialysis menu and the snack said mixed nuts. So I am totally confused. They also told him to eat alot of protein/meats etc but all the menu's have chicken turkey etc. They also said to stay away from wheat based foods but in the breakfast they have wheat as part of a cereal mix. I am soo confused as to who I should listen to if you have any suggestions that would be great. He has other issues besides the kidney failure he also has pericarditis (fluid around the heart) a blood clot in his leg, and high blood pressure for which is is on medicine for all of these. but there was not restrictions in eating from them. well except for the salt but that is part of the dialysis do not eat anyways.

Usually those "health" bars are anything but healthy. I'd cut those completely out of my diet if I were you. 170 calories for one bar? That's crazy. That's 1/2 of a meal's calories right there. I'd cut out the raisin bread and I'd get 35 calorie bread at the store. Nickles and also Aunt Millie's makes 35 calorie wheat bread. I use that. If I were you, what I would eat for breakfast is FiberOne cereal...it's only 60 calories per serving and only 100 calories with 1 % or skim milk. That's what I eat. Oatmeal is pretty good too though as long it's the unflavored kind and has low calories. I wouldn't pick any of those 3 at all....none of those are as good as what I suggested. 35 calorie wheat bread and FiberOne Cereal...make sure you get the 60 calorie version...there are multiple versions of FiberOne.

A Salty Pool without the fancy Salt Water Pump.?

I bought a salt water filter system for my inflatable pool(14' X 40" deep) and filled it up with 80 pounds of salt as the directions call for. Unfortunately Intex did not design the pump correctly and it leaks.There is supposed to be some copper ion exchange with the water as it goes through the system. I returned the salt water system. Since salt is a natural bacterial fighter by itself, can I just add salt once in a while and keep the water salty and use the filter pump that came with the pool? You never see lakewater(which is a little salty) with algae in it unless it is stagnant. With a filter pump this would not happen as the water is being filtered frequently.

Confused about a guy?

So there's this guy I like, and I have absolutely NO experience with dating. One problem is... I moved second semester to another state. I kind of feel like I should move on, but somehow I can't, plus we (my family) go back to my home town a lot. Another problem is I think my friend might like him as well. She has a lot better chance with him than I do, because a) she doesn't live 10 hours away from him (by car), and b) she talks to him a lot more (I, for some reason, am not very good at talking to guys :/ ). I feel like I have a lot more in common with him, however, but I think, I'm not sure though, he might like her too. One thing that confuses me is that whenever we do talk, on fb chat, we always sign off with a little goodbye emoticon, mine's a penguin, and his is the :putnam: emoticon (we started this last summer, long story). Would any guy out there consider that flirting, or am I just way too inexperienced and should just see it as a friend thing? I understand what your going through! I was the same age when i first became vegetarian and my dad tried to stop me too. Eventually, if you stick with your decision your parents will have to just accept it (mine did though they still aren't happy) It might help your parents to see your that decision is mature and well thought out if you plan out healthy balanced meals and prepare them yourself. To make up for the protiens in meat you should eat lots of beans and tofu. You can find iron supplement pills at most whole foods stores which you should start taking. soy milk has most of the nutrients that cow milk has but the way it tastes might be hard to get used to. good luck!:)

Question for vegans about B12?

BLAH. I hate the stupid classic B12 question. You need such a small amout, it's rediculous to even worry about it. Drink some soy/almond/rice milk every day, or eat more broccoli and I promise you, you'll be just fine. It's probably because you aren't eating right/enough. Make sure you're getting a variety of fruits/vegetables and other healthy what nots, and you'll be good to go. (:

How many calories am I having in my lunch?

At school I usually have a bowl of pasta, I'd say a pretty average amount. I have it with tomato sauce and usually some kind of meat eg. sausage, meatballs or chicken (but that's never in very big quantities.) Are my habits leading to Anorexia?

I know you really don't want to hear this, but i've been dealing with anorexia for about a year now. And yes, it sucks. i'd have to be dumb to think i was fat. I mean im 90 pounds, 5'4" and 17 years old. But, whenever i look in the mirror i see myself as being fat, and i feel fat whenever i eat. But i've gotten through it lately. I eat light foods in small amounts throughout the day, this way you don't feel full, and you aren't totally stopping either. This is what i had to do to become healthier again. But, please don't lean towards anorexia. People that struggle with anorexia never truly get over the disease. It's truly terrible and you will feel as if there's no way out. If you really want to lose weight and actually feel good about yourself..then hit up the gym! Working out makes you feel good about your body rather than just starving yourself. I know im not one to talk, but if i could go back and change my anorexia, i would.

Trying to eat healthy...help?

I'm trying to lose weight, but I also exercise a lot, so I'm trying to eat at least 1,500 calories a day to lose about 1 pound a week, the healthy way. I always have a really hard time getting my calorie count up though, and when I do, I normally go over my daily carb and sugar limits. Is this okay, as long as I'm getting the calories I'm supposed to, or should I try to pick lower carb but high calorie foods? I eat healthy for the most part, like whole grain, whole wheat, low fat and stuff, it's just the I'm getting too many carbs and sugar. Does anyone have any advice on what to do, or what to eat? I don't eat red meat at all, or fish. Only poultry and shrimp. Thanks. :)

I fingered my girlfriend and now she hates me {HELP}?

My girlfriend was really into me, she used to text and call me every day and would not let me get off the phone and you guys the rest of the signs when your girlfriends really into you. Basically she called me around her house one late night and we were getting all 'freaky' and i fingered her (first time ever we went this far) and she feels guilty for what happened, I was apologizing to her face at the time she wouldn't accept my apology (she added she won’t ever speak to me again after I leave her house), however when I was leaving her house later that night she did however kiss me (not once but TWICE! Now that I'm back home every time I text or message her via msn she ignores me, I asked her friend to ask why she is ignoring me and as a result my girlfriend says oh I don't want to talk to him. Now I I've tried many ways of communicating to her and I don’t want to come across as desperate or needy, it's been a three weeks since I last contacted her and got no reply, and I haven’t attempted to communicate her after that, so I’ve been giving her time and space as that is one of the many options I chose to do. It’s been three weeks, and she recently just contacted me one of two days ago, asking if we could be friends (because she does not love me anymore, which honestly I don’t think is true, I think she feels regretful and guilty). I was distraught so I said no, because I see her as a girlfriend not as a friend being friends would only complicate that so I told her we should move on :( . Upset my girlfriend was like No, please (with a sad emoticon) and I was persistent and said no as a result she said fine then delete me and then ill delete you if we’re not going to be friends anymore. I said well if you’re going to delete me anyway so you might as well first, and then she was like no you delete me first because if you don’t then ill end up adding you back. Lol I said no you won’t don’t worry and she said yes I will (this is when I told her I had to go because someone was calling me). A day passes and turns out she has blocked and delete me :( . Can someone advice me on what to do, is it likely she will add me back, please people from the bottom of your hearts can you help me. Hi I just moved into a new place w/ a roomate. I love to cook but we don't have a working oven. I know how to dredge and fry porkchops, thin chicken, and of course beef on the stove top, but those three choices are getting old quickly. What other options/ways of cooking meat stovetop are there? Meat eating is bad for the environment because it increases CO2 emmissions, means that rainforest gets chopped down and that loads of land is taken up to provide only a small amount of food. With one feild of cows you could feed 2 meat eaters for a months but about 8 veggies if it was full of crops.

What does this guy mean? I have an android samsung fascinate and just today after I was talking to my boyfriend I noticed a blue android emoticon next to his name and number while we were on the phone. I guarantee you are not getting sufficient nutrients or energy with this diet. Continue with this but add in a dinner thats high in protein (beans/pulses/eggs) with a good source of complex carbohydrates (brown rice/wholemeal pasta etc) and you will be ok.

My DH and I have been trying for 21 months to get pregnant with regular checks to make sure we are both healthy. We have been charting BBT and using OPKs. Two things about red and processed meats...?

1. How much do Americans eat red or processed meats? Be it a day, week, month, or year? And 2, I'm adjusting the way I eat. I'm not going into a full blow celebrity diet or whatever. It sounds as though you are dehydrated. Soda is a diuretic, which means it pulls water out of your body. Tea also does this. Also, the ramen noodles with seasoning salt will cause you to retain fluid, but still be dehydrated. You need to drink WATER. If not, you have a bad infection and need antibiotics.. an emergency room can give them to you. But you're doing the right thing but not removing it. You don't want an infection trapped inside it.

Mouth burning when eating?

You know that bit of extra skin inside the corner of your mouth that people like to bite sometimes? Well, I bit down on it quite a lot after getting into a habit of it, and it got pretty swollen and chewed up very bad. But this one is different, when I eat anything acidic, (e.g. Apples, oranges, ketchup, mustard, pickles, tomato sauce) I will experience the most awful burning pain when it comes in contact with that part I chewed up, and it makes it hard to eat anything. I never noticed how salty or acidic our day-to-day foods were until now (yes, salt hurts it very bad too, as well as soda). So i know the culprit, but I wonder if you guys have any suggestions on how to help it? Or will i just have to let it heal?
